The Background
The Prabha Rastogi Cancer Research Charitable Foundation originally started as a homegrown foundation, conceived by Late Shri Surendra Nath Rastogi and his children in the memory of late Smt. Prabha Rastogi to help cancer patients in their treatment. The foundation was formed and its trust deed was executed on 8th May, 2008 at Delhi.
Dr. Mrs. Vineeta Rastogi and Dr. Mr. Girjesh Rastogi pioneered this noble cause through their hospital at Vasundhra.
Garnering family support, the foundation hosted various free-of-cost health check-up camps for the underprivileged sections of our society and created a corpus for bearing the medical expenses of those in need.
The Foundation started conducting other activities like blood donation camps, hair donation for cancer patients, and vaccination drives.
As the foundation gained recognition in the local community, many volunteers and contributors expressed their interest to be a part of the foundation by offering to provide their services and monetary assistance.
At this stage the foundation expanded and Nanhe Kadam came into existence.
Nanhe Kadam, established in the year 2018 is an initiative to educate children from the weaker and underprivileged sections of our society.
The endeavour is to educate and groom the children from disadvantaged backgrounds to enable them to get admissions in schools and have a chance to forge a bright future.
Through this initiative, our volunteers have been generous enough to provide the space, their time, and resources to achieve our goals.
Nanhe Kadam strives hard and continues to ensure that quality education and hygiene is accessible to everyone by imparting knowledge and making them aware of health, hygiene, importance of preventing diseases, vaccination, etc.
Besides this children are engaged in extracurricular activities like art and craft, outdoor educational visits etc., celebrating national and religious festivals and are also served midday healthy food.
Our volunteers also assist in obtaining government identification documents and availing government schemes to further enable the children to be more independent, confident, hopeful and to live life gracefully.
The Foundation, while continuing its effort towards helping cancer patients and providing quality education to underprivileged children, has also taken an initiative to increase environmental awareness, helping the local residents to take steps towards a more sustainable form of living.
In our pursuit of helping and assisting more and more needy people of our society to live a dignified life, we look forward to get financial assistance from individuals and organization.
